DISRUPT #5 | Some Quotes.

Happy Saturday!

“Man suffers only because he takes seriously what the gods made for fun.” - Alan Watts

Life is a game. You choose how you play it. Do what deeply resonates with you with a meaningful goal and a meaningful purpose. Then, enjoy the process.
Just like an athlete takes his sport seriously, for fun.

"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music." - Friedrich Nietzsche

The purpose driven, the inspired, the ones who sustain success in the end are those who are intrinsically driven. The ones who become obsessed with their work with no extrinsic driver. Yet, they're viewed as insane by those who expect an extrinsic reward. Because those who expect an extrinsic reward don't see the value of working hard on its own.

The best time to start was either 5 years ago or now in the present moment.

Yet, we only have control over the present moment. So start now. Discard any self limiting belief and start. There's no better time.

“Today I escaped anxiety. Or no, I discarded it, because it was within me, in my own perceptions — not outside.” - Marcus Aurelius

What bothers you isn't the external situation but rather your own internal reaction to it.

Example: You're taking a nice walk outside and it begins to rain.

You can either

Get annoyed that your walk was cut short by rain.
And then we find a temporary dip in our mood.

or

Appreciate and enjoy the feeling of the rain. Be in the storm.
It's just like being in a pool or a shower. Only unexpected. It's just water.
It's Serendipitous. And then we find appreciation, peace, and joy.

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible" - Walt Disney

We find purpose, passion, and fun in mastering that was once impossible.

Combine the overuse and misunderstanding of the passion and it provides a false idea of what a meaningful life is for those who want to live a meaningful life filled with joyful fulfillment. It provides a false idea of achieving what one considers to be success. “Find your passion” is common advice but it is not...
